Caves Valley Golf Club is seeking a highly talented and creative Executive Chef to lead our culinary team. A passion for culinary excellence and a visionary behind the Club’s exceptional dining experience will be necessary. The successful candidate will be proficient and skilled in culinary leadership, including setting standards, best practices, standardized recipes, team development and member/guest relations. The ideal candidate is a genuine craftsperson who sincerely understands the need for everything to be exceptional. He/she is honest, trustworthy, hard-working, self-disciplined and organized.
The new EC will find that they will be working with a passionate and dedicated staff and an appreciative membership who value exceptional dining and personalized experiences. A strong, hands-on leader who communicates effectively and upholds an approach to “Unreasonable Hospitality” by showcasing the highest quality products in the most creative way possible to create an unforgettable dining experience.
· Reports to the Clubhouse Director
· The Executive Chef is directly responsible for the Club’s dining & function programs, food cost, purchasing, scheduling, hiring/firing, inventory & labor budgets
· Gains the trust of the team members
· Continually cross-trains and embraces the team to allow for continued growth
· Evaluate and continue to develop, train, and mentor the culinary team while promoting fairness and consistency every day
· Promotes a positive, engaging, responsive, and highly competent professional culinary culture
· Communicates and collaborates effectively among all departments. Creates a culture of excellence and unity within his/her department
· Works closely with the Clubhouse Director in planning events and creating amazing member and guest experiences
· Monitors safety conditions and employees’ conformance with safety procedures
· Keep up with current industry trends and network with other regional and culturally similar clubs nationwide
· Responds to member feedback and continuously elevates the Club’s culinary offerings
· Takes tremendous pride in making Members happy, exceeding their expectations and fosters accountability among the team, both in the kitchen and Clubhouse
JOB Qualifications:
· Passion for culinary arts, aware of current trends/techniques, an eye for food art/designs/displays
· Highly Organized
· Ability to maintain a calm, composed presence in an often fast-paced environment
· Ability to perform under pressure
· Experience in luxury and fine dining restaurants, private clubs or top-rated hotels
· Strong sense of accountability
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent financial and budgeting skills
· Team builder, with experience in hiring, training, guiding, and retaining staff
· Strong attention to detail, planning and organizational skills
· ServSafe Certified
