Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Overview

This is a dual-role position combining quality assurance and safety oversight for marine projects, primarily related to shipboard systems. The QAI is responsible for inspections, audits, compliance monitoring, and administrative tasks. Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and technical knowledge of military and marine standards are essential.

Primary Responsibilities

Conduct in-process and final inspections for ongoing projects

Manage and maintain Test and Inspection Plans per customer specs

Perform jobsite audits for safety and quality compliance

Oversee welder certification qualification and maintenance

Deliver proactive and corrective training to the workforce

Monitor tools, equipment, and PPE for safety/quality compliance

Interface with customer QA and safety representatives

Maintain Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) and documentation

Administer safety monitoring duties and related administrative work

Ensure access to NAS Mayport and compliance with access protocols

Knowledge & Skills Required

Certifications: VT Level II (Visual Testing), PT (Penetrant Testing) qualifications

Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of shipboard systems and components

Standards Familiarity:

NAVSEA Standard Items

MIL-STD-2035 (Nondestructive Testing)

MIL-STD-1689 (Welding/Brazing Requirements for Hull)

MIL-STD-22D (Welded Joint Design)

NSTP-278, NSTP-248, NSTP-271 (Naval Ship Technical Procedures)

Experience Required

5–7 years of related QA/NDT/Safety experience in a marine or defense contracting environment

Must be able to read and interpret complex specifications and technical drawings
