Punch Press Setup Specialist

Job Description

SUMMARY: Set up and train others to set up mechanical and hydraulic presses with tooling including the machine accessories, such as, decoiler and feed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Set up Mechanical and Hydraulic presses.

Determine parts to be run and set up for an area or set of presses.

Train other operators on how to operate the Machine and do some set up.

Performing operation to process.

Retrieve, load, and unload specified materials and parts.

Produce parts to drawing tolerances and adjust as needed.

Ensure quality and conformance to specifications.

Advise supervisor and QC of any quality issues.

Use safety devices as prescribed by the manufacturer or MEP.

Perform specified preventive maintenance of equipment and tooling and assist in repairs as required.

Responsible for ensuring the safe work habits of any associate that you assign to a job you or another set-up person has setup.

Fill out all required paperwork and train others on same.

Responsible for detailing the quality inspection required by any associate you assign to a job that you or another set-up person has setup.

Maintain 5S responsibilities of assigned work areas

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

One to two years related experience and/or training

Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Previous experienced is machine set up, tooling and fabrication

Forklift Certification or experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including decimals and fractions.

Simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments.Company Description
