Jellison’s Repair LLC is actively looking to fill a Master Semi Truck Technician position. The Master Technician is responsible for diagnostic repair and maintenance of all brands of medium to heavy duty semi-trucks, and equipment which includes routinely performing preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation of vehicles, and equipment. The Master Technician will perform job duties independently with little to no supervision and must be equipped with personal toolbox.
The Master Technician position also requires a working knowledge and understanding of ALL diesel engines including but not limited to troubleshooting, diagnostics and electrical. Also includes knowledge of engine overhaul and repairs. The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated individual that possesses a high mechanical ability, and work ethic as well as excellent leadership skills.
Job Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations
Ability to understand, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of semi-trucks and trailers ranging from brake replacements to complete engine rebuilds as well as diagnostics and repairs of electrical components, HVAC systems, air, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to operate diagnostic computers/software and analyze results.
Ability to refer to shop manuals or technician support for guidance
Ability to understand an electrical circuit.
Ability to read and understand electrical and air schematics.
Ability to understand and perform alignments on multi-axle equipment.
Ability to keep paperwork updated and turned in upon completion.
Ability to document equipment information and repairs completed on work orders, including fluids, parts etc.
Ability to read, write and communicate proficiently in English.
Ability to correctly order all required parts to perform necessary repairs in a timely, and efficient matter.
Ability to use and understand industry verbiage.
Ability to keep work area, shop tools, personal tools, equipment etc. clean and organized.
Ability to work on your own with little to no supervision.
Ability to report to scheduled shift, on time and prepared to work.
Ability to follow instructions both written and verbal.
Ability to problem solve independently.
Ability to withstand excessive loud noise.
Ability to work in frequent and repetitive movement throughout the day (walking, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and standing)
Ability to perform job duties efficiently but thoroughly as well.

Desired Skills, Qualifications & Requirements
DOT Brake/Annual certified
Proficient in ABS systems.
Proficient in diagnostics and repairs of heavy-duty transmissions, and differentials.
Proficient in diagnostics and repairs of all diesel engines including Cat, Cummins, and Detroit.
Proficient in all areas of diesel repair and diagnostics.
7+ years relevant diesel mechanic experience
Must have your own set of general tools and your own toolbox
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as well as random testing for the duration of your employment.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check (a previous criminal record, including felonies, is not an automatic disqualification)
Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 50lbs
Positive attitude
Candidate must have valid work authorization to work in the US
Driver’s license or work permit
