The Swiss Lathe Programmer / Machinist will be responsible for performing various tasks to program, set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned Swiss lathe machines. The Swiss Lathe Programmer / Machinist will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and making adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.
Responsibilities
Program and setup Swiss lathes in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery
Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation
Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
Work with project managers to schedule jobs
Inspect parts specifications and perform quality control
Clean and ship parts
Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
Train Swiss lathe operators, machinists, and programmers
Perform regular housekeeping and sanitation of Swiss lathe department
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
2+ years of experience operating Swiss screw machines
Experience hand programming using standard Fanuc G-code
Ability to use standard CNC measuring equipment
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
Knowledge of production procedures
