Job Title: Director of Digital Marketing
Reports To: Vice President, Brand Strategy
Overview
The Director of Digital Marketing will lead Excelligence’s digital marketing strategy and execution across brands, with a focus on Discount School Supply and Really Good Stuff. This role drives full-funnel campaigns across paid, owned, and earned digital channels, supporting customer acquisition, engagement, and lifetime value.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Strategy & Planning
Develop integrated digital strategies aligned with brand positioning and revenue goals.
Lead digital activation for brand campaigns across multiple formats and platforms.
Define channel mix and budget allocation by brand to optimize ROAS and LTV.
Campaign Execution & Channel Oversight
Manage digital campaigns across paid search, social, programmatic, display, affiliate, influencer, and video.
Direct SEO/SEM initiatives and lifecycle marketing (email, SMS, push).
Oversee content strategy, site optimization, and UX personalization.
Personalization & Innovation
Leverage customer and product data with AI tools to drive personalization.
Support integration of the marketing tech stack for real-time content delivery.
Analytics & Optimization
Own performance dashboards, ensuring data transparency and campaign effectiveness.
Optimize campaigns based on ROAS, traffic quality, and behavior insights.
Lead A/B testing and performance reviews across channels.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with eCommerce, Creative, Brand Strategy, and Merchandising teams.
Align campaign timing with brand storytelling and catalog planning.
Manage agency and vendor performance across media, SEO, and automation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Marketing, Digital Media, or related field; Master’s preferred.
8+ years in digital marketing across DTC and retail channels.
Expertise in media planning, paid and organic digital, email/SMS, and affiliate.
Strong analytics, attribution, and customer segmentation experience.
Experience with martech stacks, CRM, and personalization tools (Salesforce, Bloomreach, PowerDigital preferred).
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
