About the Opportunity:
A nationally recognized engineering firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Forensic Engineer to join its growing diagnostics and investigations team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-profile projects involving structural assessments, failure analysis, and litigation support across a wide range of building types and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct field investigations to assess structural damage, material failures, and construction defects.
Analyze building systems and components to determine root causes of performance issues or failures.
Prepare detailed technical reports and expert opinions for clients, insurance companies, and legal teams.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to develop repair strategies and remediation plans.
Provide expert witness testimony in legal proceedings when required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field).
Professional Engineer (PE) license required; SE license preferred.
5+ years of experience in forensic engineering, structural design, or construction.
Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
Experience with building codes, construction practices, and materials science.
Preferred Skills:
Background in litigation support or expert witness services.
Familiarity with non-destructive testing methods and structural modeling software.
