Thermal Power Plant Engineer

Thermal Power Plant Engineer required for a major Energy Owner in Houston.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the Owner's Representative, providing technical oversight during conceptual and FEED phases.

Oversee thermal performance engineering, ensuring optimal system efficiency and adherence to design criteria.

Analyze and evaluate performance of thermal systems, including GE and Siemens mid- and large-frame turbines.

Review engineering deliverables and generate detailed technical reports and performance evaluations.

Ensure all work complies with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Use thermal analysis and performance monitoring software to support system optimization.

Contribute to project planning, risk mitigation, and coordination across multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Apply owner-side engineering experience to support design decisions and identify value engineering opportunities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in thermal performance engineering within the power generation industry.

Strong experience with GE and/or Siemens turbine systems (mid- and large-frame).

Proven background in early-stage project development, including conceptual design and FEED.

Experience working with EPC contractors; owner-side experience required, EPC experience is a plus.

Proficiency with thermal modeling and performance analysis tools.

Strong communication and reporting skills.
