Job Description:
A major industrial manufacturer is seeking a skilled DeltaV Migration Engineer for a long-term contract to support a large-scale control system migration project at its Houston-based facility. This role is focused on migrating legacy DCS platforms to Emerson DeltaV, involving both design and hands-on implementation work. The ideal candidate will have experience in full lifecycle migrations and the ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic plant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in the migration of legacy DCS systems to Emerson DeltaV.
Assist in control strategy development, configuration, and programming of DeltaV systems.
Develop and update I/O lists, loop diagrams, logic drawings, and configuration documentation.
Support FAT/SAT testing, cutover planning, commissioning, and startup activities.
Work closely with operations, process engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless transitions with minimal downtime.
Interface with automation vendors and third-party engineering firms as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues during migration phases.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Control Systems Engineering (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum 5 years of experience working with Emerson DeltaV DCS systems.
Proven experience in migrating legacy control systems to DeltaV, including design, programming, and cutover.
Familiarity with batch and continuous process control strategies.
Strong documentation skills and attention to detail for compliance and traceability.
