Description

Through leadership by example, provide instruction, administer authentic assessments, and foster an active learning environment that is focused on student foundational competence, success, retention, and completion.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

Develop and maintain course curriculum. Align curriculum to departmental, state, and/or other applicable standards and outcomes.

Plan, deliver and facilitate student learning, including providing ongoing quality feedback to students.

Assess student attainment of learning outcomes and critical life skills (both formative and summative), at the course, program, and college level.

Collect, report, analyze, and use data to support continuous improvement at the course, program and college level.

Use technology to facilitate student learning, college processes, and personal productivity.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Participate as a productive member of a team.

Maintain college learning resources and equipment.

Participate in recruitment and retention activities.

Pursue ongoing professional development, maintain occupational competency, and ensure knowledge of current laws and regulations related to the profession(s) in which instruction is provided.

Minimum Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Demonstrated working knowledge of programmatic discipline, curriculum development, effective teaching/learning principles, and evaluation

Effective interpersonal communication skills - oral, written, active listening, and non-verbal cues

Strong customer service skills which includes working with individuals from diverse backgrounds

Ability to manage time, organize work and meet deadlines

Ability to effectively integrate technology into instructional delivery and assessment

Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal (staff, management, personnel) and external contacts (employers, clients, and vendors)

Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work and/or the improvement of processes and/or systems

Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and/or with minimal supervision

Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing priorities

Intermediate level of proficiency with computer software applications such as word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation programs.

Knowledge of and familiarity with video-conferencing and technologies associated with adult-centric teaching and learning, as well as within specific programmatic disciplines, which may include web technologies, operating systems, online program tracking platforms, social media platforms, mobile technology tools, and/or AV/multimedia applications and equipment.

Calculating circuit parameters for DC and AC circuits.

Utilizing calculus based functions for circuit analysis.

Troubleshooting at both the component and system level in Electronics / Electrical Engineering.

Electronic assembly including through hole and surface mount soldering techniques.

Proficiency with circuit design and layout both on the software level and protoboard.

Proficiency with high level technologies such as data communications, data acquisition, microcontrollers, microprocessors, and embedded systems.

Maintain high skill levels in the most current versions of software such as National Instruments Labview, Verilog VHDL, Pelles C IDE, National Instruments Circuit Design Suite and PSpice.

Ability to effectively use laboratory test equipment. EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Post-secondary education related to the field of Electrical Engineering, or related.

Attain and maintain a WTCS teaching certificate.

Five years of verifiable occupational experience as a fully qualified worker in the occupational area, of which 2,000 hours shall be within the previous five years.

Supplemental Information

This position supports the Department of Automation and Apprenticeships and is available to start on July 1, 2025.

This position requires Wisconsin residence.

Hours

This is a full-time instructor position on a flexible year-round calendar. Teaching assignments include variable hours, including days, evenings, and/or weekends.
