We're seeking a highly skilled Embedded Firmware Engineer to write robust, efficient, safety-critical embedded firmware for microprocessors across product lines. You will be an integral part of our team and work collaboratively with both hardware and software engineers. This position will be based at our El Segundo, CA HQ location.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain application and middleware firmware for STM32 family of architecture across product lines
Implement drivers for communication stacks such as Ethernet and CAN
Implement control loops to read sensors, process data, and drive actuators
Work closely with hardware and test engineers to design robust, scalable, and testable systems
Implement systems for testing in hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) and software frameworks
Clearly document firmware architecture and implementation details
Own firmware implementation on microcontrollers across product lines Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
At least 3 years of experience developing embedded C applications
Experience with communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN)
Low-level knowledge of STM32 architecture including CPU core and memory-mapped peripherals
Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power supplies
Experience debugging issues that span between hardware and firmware
Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed for mission critical deadlines ITAR Regulations

Experience writing C++, especially for embedded applications
Deep knowledge of the C standard, how compilers implement assembly/machine code, and how instructions get implemented in a microcontroller
Experience working with DroneCAN, FreeRTOS, and embedded state machines
Experience developing and testing radio frequency (RF) systems
