The Global Sourcing team is part of the Global Procurement department and supports key categories of goods and services across Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) including Technology, Professional Services, Corporate Services/Facilities, Travel, Marketing, Production, and Content Distribution.
Based in our Culver City office, the Sourcing Analyst will support the Director, Sourcing responsible for Marketing and Content Distribution on projects that drive value, cost savings, process improvement, and supplier excellence. This position will have a strong focus on Marketing, and Content Distribution (localizing and distributing content) and will involve:
gathering and analyzing data to:
Recommend opportunities for cost savings across Sony Pictures Entertainment’s (SPE) business units,
Support strategic sourcing opportunities, and
Drive greater cost savings and process improvements in both in the Procurement/Sourcing department and SPE’s business units.
The ideal candidate will have some experience in analysing data sets, and identifying trends and opportunities from data, as well as the ability to showcase data in suitable presentation format. It is an advantage, although not required, to have an understanding of procurement and/or related activities such as spend/proposal analysis, negotiation and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility to make connections with different teams, as the successful candidate will be required to work both cross functionally and with colleagues in other countries and departments.
This is a newly created position, so the candidate must be a self-starter, able to work independently and capable of and excited to define and expand their role.
Job Responsibilities
Define Data
Understand and manipulate spend from SPE’s various third-party spend and cost management systems.
Gather market research/data and conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to develop sourcing strategies and provide recommendations.
Recommend opportunities for data improvement and cleansing.
Analyze Spend
Analyze third-party spend to identify opportunities for cost savings.
Review internal processes and policies and provide recommendations for improvement.
Profile suppliers and segment spend.
Perform total cost/supply analysis to identify opportunities to achieve optimal value.
Analyze industry trends and conditions that affect internal stakeholders and external suppliers and/or pricing.
Understand and assist in the development and execution of supplier and performance management programs with suppliers that focus on quality, responsiveness and cost.
Provide Recommendations
Prepare clear, analytical executive-level presentations with sourcing and strategy recommendations
Communicate and report to management the status of any critical external relationships that could affect planning and decision-making
Support Procurement/Sourcing Initiatives
Participate on cross-functional sourcing projects
Analyze spend and opportunities for specific sourcing events and work with commodity sourcers to develop and execute a sourcing plan.
Assist, as needed, with commodity and supplier negotiations.
Evaluate supplier fit based on pre-determined selection criteria
Ensure compliance with Sourcing and Procurement policies and best practices
Other
Develop and provide management reports as required.
Participate in professional development activities to keep abreast of current industry best practices.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge of Sourcing & Procurement processes
Bachelor’s degree required in Business or other preferred
