ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

In collaboration with Communications & Training, Business Development, and other SMEs, oversee responses to proposals
Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, and studying proposals
Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information to review meetings; transmitting proposals
Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals
Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/ deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials with the assistance of Subject Matter Experts
Oversees presentations by evaluating text, graphics, and binding, coordinating printing
Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases
Obtains approvals by reviewing proposal with key providers and project managers
Collaborate with the Proposal Manager for final review of all proposals
Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate, implementing changes
Reviews other company’s responses to lost proposals
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks; travels to sites the company currently has contracts with to learn from the site.
Represent Advanced Correctional Healthcare at both current and potential clients’ meetings including, but not limited to, pre-bid walkthroughs and site visits.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date strategic planning manual with continuity BUS plan and goals.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
TRAINING EXPECTATIONS:
Associates in this role are expected, as a condition of employment, to complete all training assigned within a reasonable time period, generally within less than 15 days.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This is not a supervisory position. This position does not have the authority to hire, fire, discipline, discharge, assign overtime, and/or direct and assign work, with the ability to effectively recommend any of these actions. This role also serves as a coach and mentor for other employees.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This is NOT a hybrid, telecommute or remote role. This role is 100% in-office.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. A flex schedule can be worked if pre-approved by the Manager of Proposal Development.
TRAVEL:
This position occasionally requires travel.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED - Required
2+ years' experience writing proposals – Required
Technical documentation experience – Highly preferred
Strong Microsoft Office, Internet, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel, Internet, and email skills
Strong verbal and writing skills including excellent attention to detail
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to devise creative solutions for complex issues
The ability to work under multiple strict deadlines in a high stress environment without sacrificing courteousness
The ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
Trustworthy, confident, and responsible when handling or presenting sensitive information
