The Sr. Network Engineer will be responsible to lead engineering services for network hardware/software infrastructure, planning of system maintenance events, provide recommendations of hardware refresh/upgrades, and also develop of the overall management strategies across a variety network platforms. Lead the creation, refinement, and delivery of technical documentation, training materials, and knowledge content. Partner closely with Engineering and Product teams to address systemic product issues and influence roadmap decisions. Drive serviceability, usability, and product improvement efforts through customer feedback and technical insights. In this role you will be supporting modern network technology such as Cisco ACI, SDWAN, DNAC, or Netflow.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related field (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
7 years Hands-on systems engineering experience. (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Deep understanding of networking protocols
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
Required Licenses and Certifications
One or more of: CCNP, CCIE (Required)
Functional Accountabilities:
Systems Management
Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
System Integration/ Implementation
Engineer and build and maintain network platforms and services.
Integrate network products into existing network technologies.
Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers
Participate in Installation, move, adds and changes in the environment.
Set and manage deadlines.
System/Project Planning
Engineer and deploy network infrastructure systems design and configuration.
Participate in design of Disaster recovery planning.
Assist in the creation of test plans and scripts for back-up and recovery solutions.
Assist in the development of network solutions.
Performs hardware and network diagnosis.
Capable of devising ways to accomplish a difficult purpose; ability to recognize a problem and construct an effective solution compatible with overall company operations.
Technical Proficiency
Demonstrate understanding of standard networking protocols, virtual environments, and hybrid cloud.
Maintain professional expertise through continuing education at conferences, seminars, user group meetings & review of current literature.
Pursue industry standard technical certifications.
Provide technical support and consultation to IS staff.
