About the Job:

We’re looking for a dependable, experienced Operator to join our field team. This is a hands-on role that involves leading small crews, running equipment, and solving problems in the field. Most of our work is outdoors at chemical plants, tank farms, and barge terminals. Jobs involve vapor recovery, flaring, nitrogen purging, and other industrial services.

We need someone who can take responsibility for getting the job done right — safely, efficiently, and with a strong work ethic. Lots of travel required with lots of overtime potential

What You'll Do:

Field Work & Leadership

Set up and run flaring, purging, degassing, and vapor recovery jobs

Operate equipment like blowers, valves, gauges, vaporizers, nitrogen systems

Lead small crews on site — teach others and make sure the job is done safely

Solve problems on the fly, communicate clearly with the team and clients

Follow safety procedures around pressure, chemicals, electricity, and liquid nitrogen

Job Planning & Equipment Prep

Help plan upcoming jobs and make equipment lists

Test and prep equipment before jobs

Keep equipment organized and reduce unnecessary purchases

Work with the shop team when not on jobs

Good recordkeeping

Training & Teamwork

Help train new operators

Build and manage job crews

Communicate with other operators and office staff to solve problems

Requirements:

Trustworthy and Reliable

Experience working with pressure systems, industrial equipment, and field crews

Strong mechanical skills and good judgment

Willing to work long hours, overtime, and weekends when needed

Available for last-minute jobs that can last a few days to a few weeks

Comfortable working around chemicals, pressure, and industrial hazards

Must speak and write English clearly; Spanish is a plus

Must have a valid Class C driver’s license and TWIC card

CDL Class A is a plus

Clean background and drug-free — random testing enforced

Some electrical knowledge is a bonus

Purgit is a small, specialized industrial service company based in Pasadena, TX. We bring custom vapor control equipment to job sites across the U.S. to help chemical and petrochemical clients work safely and meet environmental regulations.

Our services include mobile flaring, degassing, purging, and cryogenic vapor recovery. We work with chemicals like hydrocarbons, ammonia, and liquid nitrogen. Most jobs are outside in real-world industrial conditions.
