We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced retention and collections agent with a proven track record to join our Customer Support team.

As a retention agent, you will place 100+ calls each day to customers to complete their online and direct mail order purchases when their credit card has failed. Prior outbound phone collections experience required to be successful in this position.

You must have the right mix of energy, enthusiasm and work ethic. You will also be rewarded for your efforts as a valued member of our team. You must be proficient in MS Office and have a clear and strong speaking voice.

Job Description

• Ensure collection of past due customer accounts from inception to account resolution.

• Notify customer of outstanding balance, research payment discrepancy, and document actions taken.

• Ensure timely follow-up to comply with severity of past due status.

• Work closely with our Finance and Operations team to ensure accurate reporting.

• Provide overflow support for internal and external customer support lines.

• Display tact and diplomacy in resolving collections issues

• Professional commitment is expected (i.e. attendance, promptness, focus on job & tasks, always working and contributing.)

• Perform other work related duties and special projects as assigned by Management

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of collection and reconciliation experience.

• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to provide accurate reporting in Excel.

• Persuasive negotiation skills in matters of payment discrepancies.

• Independent discretion and judgment.

• Accurate data entry skills.

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and customer service skills.

• Strong skills for attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Professional written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work effectively under stress, meet short deadlines, take direction and perform assigned duties.

• Ability to work well within a team as well as independently.

Previous outbound call center experience required. Reliable transportation and flexibility in your schedule is a must.
