Role Overview

The Advanced Therapies Clinical Operations Manager will oversee a unified team of Advanced Therapy Navigators and partner with a Boston-based Health System Partner and Shields leadership to lead the integration of services across the full Boston-based Health System Partner ecosystem. The leader will cultivate a high performing team, establish and oversee care coordination and patient support workflows - ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and provider satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management:

Lead and manage a unified team of Advanced Therapy Navigators that will be deployed horizontally across all disease programs servicing advanced therapies

Recruit and manage the expansion of new Advanced Therapy Navigators to join team

Foster a culture of collaboration and patient-centric care

Continue to ensure full collaboration and transparency with Health System Partner's nursing, clinical, and operational leadership

Partner with Shields operations team to establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics for Advanced Therapy Navigator staff

Workflow Development and Integration:

Partner with operations, technology, and Advanced Therapy Navigator teams to assist in the development of systems and tools for management of the function, including:

Developing and operationalizing workflows for internal and external patient identification, enrollment, care coordination, and support across all products, disease programs, and sites of care

Establishing data collection/tracking standards and the development of a data repository and tracking tool over time

Oversee the integration of care coordination and patient support services into Oncology and other specialized disease programs including Sickle Cell, Beta Thalassemia, Hemophilia, SMA, DMD, Inherited Retinal Disorders, and all future advanced therapy disease states

Patient & Therapy Coordination / Facilitation Oversight:

Interface with manufacturers as part of onboarding process to integrate product(s) and facilitate the development of workflows for ongoing operational management

Establish relationships and work with cross functional leaders (inpatient and outpatient medical care teams, apheresis, radiology, radiation therapy, cell therapy laboratory, OR, research teams, social work, transportation/housing/meals partners, financial clearance, transitions of care, etc.) in oversight of patients on service and Advanced Therapy Navigation function

Ensure any data handled at any point throughout the patient journey is tracked in an accurate, organized and consistent manner and made available to quality and/or data management personnel

Program & Company Growth:

Serve as a clinical and educational consultant to the nursing staff, medical staff, management, other members of the health care team and external vendors regarding the management of advanced therapy patients

Opportunities to participate in the growth of the program and business unit within and outside the Partner Health System, including participating in/travelling to the implementation/integration of programs at other health systems

Participate in national task force with other Advanced Therapy Program Managers to share best practices across the network

Experience

Registered Nurse - MA

8-10+ years oncology, transplant, and/or advanced therapies experience

Bachelors of Arts or Science

Compensation

Competitive base salary with bonus opportunity tied to outcomes metrics.
