Position Overview:

The Electrical Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily electrical work on

energy infrastructure projects. This role ensures that all electrical installations, including high-

voltage (HV), medium-voltage (MV), and low-voltage (LV) systems, are completed safely,

efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and industry standards. The

Electrical Foreman leads a team of electricians, ensures adherence to safety protocols, conducts

quality control, and supports the Electrical General Foreman and Electrical Superintendent

in delivering successful projects across power plants, substations, transmission & distribution

(T&D), renewable energy (solar and wind farms), and oil & gas facilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Installation & Supervision

Oversee and direct the installation of switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers,

conduits, cable trays, grounding systems, and control panels.

Supervise the wiring, terminations, electrical connections, and grounding for

electrical distribution systems.

Ensure proper installation, alignment, and testing of power distribution systems,

MCCs, motors, and electrical panels.

Monitor the assembly, installation, and testing of solar PV modules, inverters, and

battery storage systems for renewable energy projects.

Work with the commissioning team to test, troubleshoot, and energize electrical

systems.

2. Safety & Compliance

Electrical Code), and NESC (National Electrical Safety Code).

Conduct daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and site safety inspections.

Ensure proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), arc flash protection, and PPE compliance.

Monitor hot work permits and safety precautions when working on live electrical

circuits.

Investigate and report electrical safety incidents and near misses.

3. Crew & Workforce Management

Supervise and lead a team of electricians, apprentices, and electrical subcontractors.

Assign tasks to workers based on project deadlines and electrical system

requirements.

Train and mentor electricians and apprentices in proper installation techniques, safety

protocols, and best practices.

Ensure workforce productivity, efficiency, and adherence to project goals.

4. Equipment & Material Coordination

Ensure the proper handling, storage, and installation of electrical components,

including cables, panels, and transformers.

Oversee the operation of megohmmeters, multimeters, infrared cameras, and cable

pulling equipment.

Track and manage inventory of electrical materials and tools, preventing shortages and

delays.

Work with the procurement team to order, receive, and distribute necessary electrical

components.

5. Quality Control & Inspections

Conduct inspections of electrical installations to verify compliance with project

blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.

Work with QA/QC teams to oversee electrical testing, including continuity testing,

insulation resistance testing, and voltage drop assessments.

Ensure that all electrical connections, grounding, and terminations are secure and meet

industry standards.

Address and resolve punch list items, wiring issues, and installation defects.

6. Scheduling & Coordination

Work closely with the Electrical General Foreman and Superintendent to ensure

alignment with the project schedule.

Monitor work progress and adjust crew assignments, workflows, and schedules as

needed.

Communicate delays, material shortages, or technical challenges to leadership for

resolution.

7. Communication & Reporting

Provide daily work progress reports to the Electrical General Foreman and Project

Manager.

Document completed tasks, workforce hours, material usage, and equipment

performance.

Communicate technical challenges, field modifications, and design conflicts with

engineers and supervisors.

Attend and participate in project coordination meetings to discuss upcoming work and

safety concerns.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years in electrical construction, with experience in energy sector projects

(power plants, substations, renewables, T&D, oil & gas).

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (trade certifications or technical training

preferred).

Certifications:

*OSHA 30 (mandatory).

* NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety) Certification.

* Journeyman Electrician License (preferred).

* Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP) (preferred).

bending, and electrical troubleshooting.

* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams,

blueprints, and relay settings.

* Experience with electrical testing equipment, voltage metering, and system

commissioning.

* Strong leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Why This Role is Critical

The Electrical Foreman plays a key role in ensuring that electrical installations, power

distribution systems, and control circuits are properly assembled, tested, and operational. This
