Structured Cabling Technicians Needed – Long-Term VA Project (Bonham, TX)
Opportunities for Level I, II, and III Technicians – Government Prevailing Wage Project
A respected national electrical contractor is seeking support from TradeSTAR for an active structured cabling project at a VA facility just north of Dallas. This project is part of a broader nationwide initiative to upgrade IT infrastructure in federal healthcare environments.
We are hiring Level I, II, and III Technicians to assist with the installation and termination of over 800,000 feet of CAT6e cable within an occupied medical facility. The expected project duration is 4.5 months, with additional opportunities possible.
Position Highlights
Job Title: Structured Cabling Technician (Levels I–III)
Location: Bonham, TX (VA Facility)
Schedule: 4x10s (Mon–Thurs), with potential for OT (up to 6x10s) based on jobsite performance
Pay Type: Davis-Bacon / Prevailing Wage project – certified payroll reports provided weekly
Environment: Occupied facility – must be clean-cut, professional, and respectful of end-user staff
Scope of Work
ISP work only – CAT6e cable installation, pulling, dressing, and termination
No fiber terminations, no OSP work, and no confined space entry
All work performed inside the facility (no manholes or underground work)
Qualifications
Level I: 6+ months of experience pulling and dressing cable in commercial environments
Level II: 2+ years’ experience with cable terminations, testing, labeling, and work area setup
Level III: 4+ years’ experience; capable of leading small teams and interpreting prints/scope
Strong attention to detail, ability to follow strict appearance and PPE standards
Must be comfortable working around hospital staff and in occupied spaces
Background screening required –
Drug screening may be required
