Description
POSITION PURPOSE: The Mailroom Supervisor provides efficient and consistent mail services to all campus constituencies; operates the mailroom within established guidelines and expectations and manages subordinate mailroom staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Administration and organization: implement and maintain policies as established by the U.S. Postal Service, the School, and other mail services; schedule, supervise, and evaluate staff; balance cash drawer; maintain inventory of stamps and supplies, as well as postage for electronic equipment.
2. Mail Processing: manage mailroom window, sales, and package distribution; coordinate and participate in delivery of mail and packages to all departments and campus locations; coordinate pick up of mail from U.S. Post Office; receive, process, and coordinate distribution of deliveries from UPS and other carriers; process outgoing express mail and maintain an accurate log of all transactions.
3. Equipment management and maintenance: operate and maintain electronic franking equipment; UPS scanning equipment; maintain mailboxes and combinations, and make minor mailbox repairs, when necessary; ensure proper use and maintenance of mailroom equipment and vehicles assigned to mailroom operation.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM KSA'S (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES) REQUIRED FOR PLACEMENT IN POSITION
Education: high school diploma or equivalent required, some college course work preferred
Prior experience: Two years' experience in a mail service setting preferred. Previous supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to improve efficiency of mailroom operations.
Licenses & Certifications:Current Motor Vehicle Operator License

Schedule: Regular full-time employment. Hours are typically Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. with some Saturday hours. Other hours as required during peak periods.
