The Challenge:
Saalt seeks a Director of Operations to lead and scale our product operations function as we expand across DTC, Amazon, and wholesale channels. This role will own fulfillment, logistics, systems, inventory, and compliance-including warehouse strategy and wholesale chargeback reduction. You'll be responsible for the end-to-end order-to-cash process and will build the infrastructure and team needed to support our next stage of growth.
As a strategic and hands-on operator, you will partner cross-functionally with finance, sales, customer experience, and tech teams to build a resilient, efficient, and data-driven operations engine. Your leadership will ensure we deliver best-in-class service across all channels while scaling efficiently and sustainably.
What You'll Do:
Fulfillment & Logistics
Oversee and optimize the entire order flow from NetSuite through fulfillment (Shopify, Amazon, EDI, and shipping).
Lead all third-party logistics and operations relationships, including contract negotiations, SLA enforcement, KPI tracking, and issue resolution.
Design and implement scalable SOPs for inbound, outbound, returns, and reverse logistics across all channels.
Build and maintain fulfillment and shipping KPIs (e.g., ship time, OTIF, error rates, cost per order, and CSAT).
Lead logistics and regulatory functions and oversee the performance and development of direct and indirect reports.
NetSuite & Systems
Own operational system integrity across inventory, fulfillment, and order management in NetSuite.
Govern item master data, BOMs, routings, and units of measure to maintain accurate and scalable records.
Partner with the NetSuite admin and finance to streamline processes, improve reporting, and reduce error rates.
Oversee integrations across platforms (Shopify, SPS Commerce, ShipStation, etc.) to ensure seamless order flow.
Wholesale & Compliance
Lead operational onboarding of wholesale accounts, ensuring full routing compliance and EDI setup.
Manage EDI workflows; resolve ASN, invoice, and chargeback issues proactively.
Own and drive wholesale compliance and chargeback reduction strategies.
Oversee and improve quality system compliance, including adherence to FDA and ISO 13485 standards.
Operational Planning & Scaling
Own capacity planning in partnership with 3PLs and internal teams to support forecasted growth and seasonal spikes.
Identify bottlenecks and lead cross-functional initiatives to automate and improve operational workflows.
Build and maintain executive-level dashboards and reports that highlight operational performance and risk.
Evaluate and implement new technologies or vendors to support scaling needs.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Technical & Leadership Skills
8-12 years of experience in physical product operations, ideally in CPG, consumer health, or medical devices.
Strong working knowledge of NetSuite-able to manage and optimize order, inventory, and fulfillment flows.
Proven success leading 3PL operations, logistics strategy, and warehouse partnerships.
Deep understanding of EDI platforms like SPS Commerce and wholesale compliance workflows.
Demonstrated ability to build, enforce, and scale SOPs and systems across a multi-channel business.
Strong analytical, project management, and process improvement capabilities.
Experience leading and growing high-performing teams; proven people development and coaching skills.
Familiarity with quality system standards (FDA, ISO 13485) preferred.
Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is a plus.
Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs. as needed and be comfortable in warehouse environments.
