Job Title: Payment Processing Specialist

Position Summary:

The Payment Processing Specialist is responsible for reviewing, reconciling, and processing financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. This role involves working closely with internal departments, customers, and other stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and support daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Review payment reports for application or posting issues; identify and correct errors in accordance with established procedures.

Contact customers or third parties to reconcile remittance discrepancies.

Retrieve necessary data to complete transaction postings accurately and timely.

Support departmental requests such as providing check copies and generating reports.

Maintain accurate records and transaction logs.

Process daily incoming and outgoing cash transactions in compliance with departmental and company policies.

Record transaction details in appropriate databases.

Evaluate transactions for potential fraud or financial risk; promptly escalate concerns to management.

Participate in meetings to stay informed on risk factors and departmental updates.

Assist with cash posting duties, year-end audit preparation, and other special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in transaction processing.

Effective communication and reconciliation skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Experience in financial services, accounts receivable, or payment processing preferred.

Familiarity with financial systems and databases a plus.
