Job Title: Part-Time Controller / Bookkeeper (Contract)
Location: Hybrid – Some On-Site Required Based in Dayton, Ohio
Schedule: ~1.5 Days per Week
Duration: 6-Month Contract (Potential to Extend)
Start Date: Immediate

About the Role:
Roots Staffing is recruiting on behalf of our client, a fast-growing Audio-Visual (AV) startup with approximately $2M in annual revenue. This part-time opportunity is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats in a growing small business environment. The role will handle light controller responsibilities, day-to-day accounting functions, and some administrative support.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily and weekly bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks Online
Manage bill pay, invoicing, and basic AP/AR
Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate financial records
Assist with monthly financial reporting and cash flow tracking
Support light administrative tasks as needed
Collaborate with internal leadership and provide financial insights
Requirements
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Proven accounting/bookkeeping experience, ideally in a small business or startup environment
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and in-office as needed (hybrid schedule)
A proactive and flexible attitude suited to a growing team
