Summary

Digital Machining Solutions team standardizes, delivers and maintains lean digital manufacturing tools and services for the GE Aerospace sites utilizing state-of-the-art technologies to increase capacity and quality, to avoid cost and to achieve on-time delivery. GE Aerospace shops are utilizing in-house developed CNC digital kits to perform the processes in physical world. Current GE Aerospace CNC portfolio is a mix of various machine and controller types. The “CNC Systems Engineer” will bridge between Digital Machining Solutions team and end-users in GE Aerospace shops and will focus on integration, control and performance optimization of CNC machines from a systems and automation perspective.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

Serve as technical expert for diagnosing and resolving complex CNC system issues

Program, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC control systems including PLCs, HMIs and motion control interfaces

Contribute to machine runoff standardization

Support machine connectivity

Collaborate with IT, maintenance, and manufacturing teams

Creating “How to” documents

Work in a highly dynamic, collaborative, and global team environment

Coordinate several concurrent projects

Approximately 10-25% travel

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 3 years of experience in CNC programming, applications, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Desired Experience:

Minimum 7 years in CNC programming, applications, commissioning, and troubleshooting

CNC commissioning

Servo motor/control tuning of CNC drives (i.e. PI/PID controllers, low pass & notch filters etc.)

Multi-axis CNC setup & calibration

Developed procedural documentation

Okuma OSP control experience

Siemens 840DSL and SinumerikOne experience

Familiarity with on-machine probing macros

The base pay range for this position is 98,300-163,800 Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on July 1, 2025.
