Summer Program METCO Teaching Assistant

Special Education Teacher Assistant for Summer Program at Loring Elementary School The Sudbury Public School SMILE (SUMMER MATH INTERVENTION AND LITERACY ENGAGEMENT) program is looking for a Teaching Assistant for our extended year summer program for elementary school-aged students in the METCO program who need more academic support.

The 5 day / 4 week program will target elementary students (K-5) and focus on numeracy and literacy skills.

Instruction will be provided by trained educators and align with the Sudbury curriculum using a 1:10 teacher to student ratio.

Certification is highly preferred but not required.

Teachers will be provided specialized training during a two hour orientation in early June to better support students.

The goal of the program is to build academic skills as well as provide opportunities for social development.

We recognize that part of the program will be focused on academics, however, we also see opportunities for fun and creativity including theme weeks.
