This position is grant-funded and is under the general supervision of the Site Supervisor and Special Programs Director and is assigned to the District Office Employee Group. The person in this position implements the School Readiness Group curriculum 5 times/week including behavior management techniques consistent with the Kids in Transition to School (KITS) model and philosophy including appropriate use of reinforcement and limit setting. Attend weekly clinical meetings. Complete impressions about each child and group as a whole after each session. This position is temporary for the length of the grant. Training: Up to 40 hours during the last two weeks of June. Summer hours: M-F, 7/5-8/13
Rate is $29.09 per hour through June 30, 2025 and $29.96 starting July 1, 2025.
Essential Job Tasks to be Performed
Lead lessons and role-plays;
Facilitate transitions;
Monitor flow and timing of activities;
Monitor overall behavior and interactions among the group;
Work with Oregon Social Learning Center Director and site supervisors to manage support staff;
Ongoing assessment of children’s strengths and needs;
Coordinate with program supervisor and team to develop adaptations and support for individual student needs
Participate in the weekly clinical team meetings
Complete post-group ratings of child behavior
Other project-related tasks as needed
Qualifications Required
Experience working with/ and or educating young children
Understanding of child development and appropriate expectations for 4-6-year-olds.
Experience in a leadership position.
Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
Ability to follow established procedures and to make independent decisions based on existing methods and procedures
Good working knowledge of personal computers; computer literacy
BA/BS degree with coursework appropriate to the position and at least 1-year related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience appropriate to the position.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
