About Statsig
Statsig is a Series C analytics startup built by ex-Facebook engineers and PMs, backed by ICONIQ, Sequoia, and Madrona. Our platform helps top tech companies including OpenAI, Notion, Figma, Flipkart, and Brex ship faster and make better product decisions through experimentation and real-time analytics.
We’re a 130-person team based in Bellevue, WA, moving quickly and building for builders. If you care deeply about developer experience, love working close to the code, and want to level up how technical products are documented—this is your role.
What You’ll Do
As a Technical Writer at Statsig, you won’t just write docs; you’ll own the documentation system. This is a hybrid writing/engineering/product role where you’ll refresh our docs platform, refine customer-facing content, and work closely with engineers to explain deeply technical systems in developer-friendly language.
You'll be hands-on in the code, test new features as they’re being built, and help shape how the product is communicated to other engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Docs Platform Engineering
Lead a refresh of our documentation on Docusaurus, including restructuring content and adapting React components.
Maintain and evolve our documentation site like you would a production frontend app, contributing to layout, performance, and content tooling.
Developer-Facing Content
Write and maintain technical docs and blogs for SDKs, APIs, infra tooling, and product features. If it helps developers use Statsig, it’s in scope.
Walk through new features, test flows, and build understanding through direct use and SME interviews, not just secondhand notes.
Docs-as-Product
Own the docs backlog: prioritize fixes, clean up outdated content, reduce duplication, and improve discoverability.
Act as a PM for docs by triaging issues, managing feedback, and coordinating with Product, Sales, and Engineering.
Code + Workflow
Use GitHub, VSCode, and CI pipelines to publish content and maintain the docs.statsig.com site and structure.
Write in Markdown and React, manage PRs, and contribute to internal tools or scripts that improve the authoring workflow.
What We’re Looking For
2+ years of experience as a Technical Writer
Developer Empathy: You’re not just documenting from specs. You want to experience the product like a customer developer would and write with clarity, precision, and honesty.
Docs-as-Code Fluency: You’ve used Git, static site generators (like Docusaurus or Mintlify), and can confidently debug, edit, and build doc pipelines.
Systems Thinker: You understand how content, structure, and tooling fit together and care about usability and scalability.
Strong Coding Ability: You can comfortably work in React and TypeScript, navigate developer tools and SDKs, and contribute to a docs frontend like any other engineer.
Startup Mindset: You’re proactive, self-directed, and excited to build foundational systems from scratch.
