Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator – Senior

Location: Remote (Candidates must reside in Eastern, Central, or Mountain time zones)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Database Administrator – Senior to provide comprehensive technical support in a production operations environment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle databases, a strong understanding of performance tuning and optimization, and the ability to work effectively in high-availability, mission-critical environments. This role includes a 24x7x365 support model, with expectations for participation in on-call rotations and weekend work.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide application database development, performance tuning, and operational support.

Lead database backup, recovery, patching, upgrades, and maintenance.

Troubleshoot complex operational issues and perform root cause analysis.

Collaborate with internal teams and participate in customer-facing meetings.

Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation, including flexible work during nights and weekends.

Document issues, resolutions, and procedures using tools like ServiceNow (SNOW).

Support database operations in a Java application environment.

Required Experience:

Minimum 10 years of experience with Oracle database systems on UNIX and Linux platforms.

Hands-on experience with Oracle 11g, 12c, and 19c, including RAC, ASM, and Transparent Data Encryption.

Strong performance tuning, backup & recovery (RMAN), and database query optimization.

Proficiency in PL/SQL and shell scripting.

Experience with database partitioning, patching, and cloning.

Familiarity with Solaris and Red Hat operating systems.

Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface with clients and team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using ServiceNow (SNOW) or similar ticketing systems.

Exposure to working in high-availability and enterprise production environments.

Knowledge of database operations in support of web-based applications.
