Word Processor Operator I

$15.93/hour - $20.80/hour

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Agriculture, Markets and Food, Agricultural Development Division has a full-time vacancy for 43-6010 Administrative Assistant-2.

Summary:

To produce an accurate and informative Weekly Market Bulletin in a timely manner by coordinating with printer, editor, market reviewer.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency credential. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience: Two years' experience in word processing.

License/Certification: None required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Courses in office procedures, word processing and/or typing. Possesses working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs: Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Access.

Responsibilities:

Processes new Weekly Market Bulletin subscription and renewal payments, adds and deletes subscription information on master database for Weekly Market Bulletin, prepares updated subscriber file for digital transmittal to mailing contractor. Maintains liaison with mailing contractor.

Processes Weekly Market Bulletin subscription payments (cash, check and credit card). Manages the credit card processing system and all reports.

Answers general questions from the public relative to Weekly Market Bulletin subscriptions, advertising and editorial copy.

Operates department switchboard and serves as main department receptionist. Directs callers/visitors to the appropriate division. Performs clerical tasks for the Division of Agricultural Development and assists all divisions of the department as needed and as time allows. Schedules meetings, conferences and activities in departmental meeting spaces. Provides general information and referrals for citizen inquiries and complaints.

Receives daily mail for the department and distributes to appropriate divisions. Opens mail relating to Weekly Market Bulletin and other departmental publications as directed.

Operates office equipment to include: personal computer, credit card machine, and printer/copy machine.

Performs other duties and tasks as directed.
