Position Purpose:
The AVP of Information Technology is a leadership role within our organization. This position will oversee and manage the infrastructure, helpdesk and cybersecurity teams. The AVP will play a critical role in shaping the technology strategy, ensuring operational excellence, and driving innovation across the organization.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Infrastructure Management:
Lead and guide the infrastructure team responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization's technology infrastructure.
Oversee network architecture, server management, data centers, cloud services, and disaster recovery planning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions.
Cybersecurity Leadership:
Develop and implement a robust cybersecurity strategy to protect the organization's assets, data, and systems.
Manage security operations, threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability assessments.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices to enhance security posture.
Strategic Planning:
Work closely with executive leadership to align IT initiatives with overall business goals.
Define and execute a long-term technology roadmap, considering scalability, efficiency, and risk management.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
Team Development:
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the IT teams.
Mentor and develop team members, ensuring their growth and professional advancement.
Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Vendor Management:
Evaluate and select technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
Ensure compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs) and monitor vendor performance.
Budget Oversight:
Develop and manage the IT budget, allocating resources effectively.
Monitor expenses, track cost-saving initiatives, and report to senior leadership.
Risk Mitigation:
Assess and mitigate technology-related risks, including cybersecurity threats, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Implement robust controls and governance processes.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or 10 years of experience managing highly technical teams.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IT leadership roles.
Proven track record in managing infrastructure and cybersecurity functions.
Strong understanding of network architecture, and data center operations.
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCISO are highly desirable.
Excellent strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Culture
Barrett-Jackson's culture is live and in-person. Team members are in the office 5 days per week, 8am to 5pm at the Scottsdale, AZ headquarters. During live events the company largely travels together to produce and ensure each event is a success. This requires weekend work and long hours.
