Position Purpose: This position, reporting directly to the Assistant General Counsel and Compliance Officer, will support NICB's Compliance Program, Audit and Credentialing Program, and Third-Party Vendor Management Program and is integral to ensuring NICB employees and those who have access to NICB information comply with the law, NICB policies, and contractual obligations.
This role will focus on: (i) responding to third-party audits; (ii) monitoring compliance of NICB's privacy and security policy, including implementing audits of Member companies and other external parties; (iii) monitoring and auditing contract compliance; (iv) employee compliance with all NICB policies and procedures; and (v) NICB compliance with federal and state laws and industry standards, including data privacy and information security requirements.
This role will support NICB's Office of the General Counsel by performing discovery production and product legal review.
This role will support NICB's Office of Strategy, Policy and Government affairs by performing occasional legislative analysis; managing lobbying registration and compliance obligations and completes relevant filings; and assisting in organizing the National Conference of Insurance Crime Attorneys.
As NICB's Risk and Compliance Analyst, this position will be responsible for working with IT to ensure that the data collected and utilized by NICB complies with all applicable laws and conforms to the agreements entered between NICB and third-party data providers.
Work Arrangement and Description: This is a remote position which means NICB grants the privilege and flexibility to work from a location within the boundaries of the United States or its Territories.
Competencies/Duties: * In collaboration with the Compliance Officer and IT, completes third-party audits and responds to related inquiries pertaining to privacy and information security compliance; * With oversight by the Compliance Officer, conducts audits of third-party vendors who have access to NICB information for compliance with NICB's privacy and security policy and contractual obligations; * Receives, documents, and monitors reports of alleged noncompliance * Works closely with the Compliance Officer to evaluate and respond to suspected policy violations; * Performs compliance interviews and investigates reports of alleged noncompliance to determine the validity, nature, and scope of the matter; * Drafts compliance investigative summary reports after the completion of the investigation; * Conducts audits of law enforcement use of NICB systems; * In collaboration with the Compliance Officer, recommends and manages effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations; * Assists paralegals with eDiscovery and subpoena responses; * Analyzes legislation to support NICB's Office of Strategy, Policy and Government Affairs Department; * Manages lobbying registration and compliance obligations and completes relevant filings; and * Assists in organizing the National Conference of Insurance Crime Attorneys.
Position Requirements/Abilities: * Knowledge of privacy and information security systems, laws and best practices * Knowledge of corporate compliance processes and procedures, including but not limited to internal investigations * Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills * Exemplary work ethic and dedication to collaboration * Attention to detail * Flexibility and adaptability to handle a wide variety of compliance and audit matters Education, Work Experience, Licensure * Bachelor's Degree * Three to five years related work experience * Data privacy or information security certifications preferred (such as IAPP, CCEP, SANS) * Investigative or auditing experience preferred * Insurance industry regulation experience preferred * Excellent Excel, PowerPoint skills and knowledge of AI preferred * Legal discovery experience a plus but not required * Legislative analysis experience a plus but not required Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
