About the Company

Adaptyx Biosciences is seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to lead the firmware/software (FW/SW) development of our wearable continuous molecular monitoring device as we prototype towards our first product. This role focuses on designing, prototyping, and optimizing embedded systems for low-power, wearable biosensors that integrate seamlessly with our proprietary molecular sensing platform. As a key team member, you will collaborate with cross-disciplinary scientists and engineers to create high-performance embedded solutions, ensuring robust integration of hardware, firmware, and software.

Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and prototyping of FW/SW systems for our wearable biosensor platform.

Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate molecular sensing components into a compact, low-power wearable platform.

Develop firmware for microcontrollers and low-power SoCs to support sensor operation and data acquisition.

Develop software applications for interfacing with the biosensor system.

Conduct hardware testing, debugging, and performance tuning to optimize system reliability and accuracy.

Implement wireless communication interfaces (e.g., Bluetooth, BLE, or similar) to transmit real-time data to companion devices.

Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including schematics, design specifications, and test procedures.

Stay current with emerging trends in wearable technology and embedded systems to guide future development.

Required Qualifications:

BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

7+years of experiencedeveloping FW/HW for low-power, compact devices.

Proficiency inC/C++for embedded firmware development andPythonfor data analysis and hardware validation.

Strong understanding ofhardware-software integrationand experience with microcontroller platforms (e.g., Nordic, ARM Cortex, STM32).

Experience developing systems forwearable or biosensing devices.

Experience with communication protocols such asSPI, I2C, UART, andBluetooth/BLE.

Proficiency insoftware developmentfor data analysis and visualization (e.g. scripts, databases, PC applications, web applications, etc.).

Proficiency inbringing up, debugging and testing embedded hardwareusing tools like oscilloscopes, etc.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-on experience with PCB design, layout, and prototyping tools.

Familiarity with low-power circuit design and optimization techniques.

Knowledge of analog front-end design for sensor integration.

Experience developing hardware and/or FW/SW formedical devicesin compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 60601, IEC 62304) and DFM practices.

Familiarity withDesign Controlprocesses, including requirements management, risk analysis (e.g., FMEA), and verification/validation testing.
