Job Summary
Nevell Group is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our preconstruction team. The Senior Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the cost of large-scale commercial wall system projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and other documentation. This role plays a critical part in securing new work and supporting NGis continued growth and profitability.
Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of detailed estimates for commercial wall system projects (interior/exterior).
Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope and requirements.
Develop quantity take-offs, pricing strategies, and bid proposals.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients during preconstruction phases.
Analyze historical cost data and market trends to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
Manage bid schedules and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors.
Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and constructability issues.
Mentor and support junior estimators as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum 7+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating, preferably in wall systems (drywall, framing, plaster, etc.).
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry practices.
Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, OST, or similar).
Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
