Job Description
MDR is looking for a talented Controls engineer to join our team and support NASA/MSFC development and flight programs. The job will include Flight Controls design and analysis support to the Human Landing System (HLS) program. Additional support to Space Launch System or Mars Ascent Vehicle may be included.
What You'll Be Doing:
Provide engineering expertise and develop engineering products related to feedback control systems design and analysis.
Participate in team environment to further the development of control algorithm capabilities in support of development programs
Deliver Controls time-domain and frequency domain analysis products in support of rocket/spacecraft/lander design and analysis process
Perform specific controls design and analysis utilizing complex 6-DOF simulation programs and techniques
Analyze complex data, arrive at logical conclusions, and make recommendations
Develop and review technical memorandums, white papers, and briefings supporting findings and conclusions of analyses
Coordinate across disciplines and organizations for proper control system integration
Develop and present technical briefings and reports to Senior Leadership
Effectively communicate both orally and in writing
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
15+ years experience preferred
BS in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math, (Aerospace Engineering preferred)
Knowledge and application of feedback control system principles and development/analytical techniques. Specific experience in rocket/spacecraft/lander GN&C development preferred

Proficient with Microsoft Office® applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of NASA/MSFC organizational structure
