Job Title: Application Engineer

Location: Iowa

Salary: $80k - $110k

Travel: 25% - 50%

Are you experienced in manufacturing technology and looking to start or grow your career in CNC machining and applications engineering?

We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Application Engineer.

This role offers a dynamic mix of technical support, hands-on machine work, and direct customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical support in person or over the phone to customers, internal teams, and during trade shows.

Conduct time studies, test cuts, and machine demonstrations based on customer requirements.

Assist in the setup of CNC machines, including tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.

Generate CNC programs using conversational programming, CAM systems, and G-code/Macro code.

Estimate machining times and calculate optimal speeds and feeds.

Inspect completed parts for quality and accuracy.

Produce technical documentation and engineering reports.

Collaborate regularly with internal engineers, customers, and suppliers.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field) preferred; equivalent machining experience also considered.

0–2 years of relevant experience.

Working knowledge of CNC programming, machine setup, part processing, and metal cutting.

Ability to read technical drawings and interpret machining requirements.

Basic understanding of metallurgy and machining materials.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Adaptability to changing priorities and a proactive problem-solving approach.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.

Willingness to work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime as required.
