Title: Controls Design Engineer
Location: Westchester, OH
Onsite everyday M-F with potential flexibility here down the line for hybrid
At a client sites in surrounding states around 20% of the time
Onsite making sure the installation goes well
Perm Position: $70,000 to 90,000 base salary (potential flexibility DOE) + PAID overtime, and bonuses should equate to $10K+ in additional compensation.
Average person works 44 hours a week in this role, and they will get paid for this overtime
Bonuses paid out quarterly (based on production)
Must Haves:
Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
3-7 years of experience working as an electrical design engineer, automation engineer, etc.
Experience troubleshooting existing control systems and equipment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills
PLC and HMI Programing experience (primarily Rockwell and Allen Bradley) - They will do custom PLC and HMI programming/automation for their client’s needs
Plusses:
Vision experience with Cognex and/or Keyence cameras
Any robotics experience
Sales or estimating experience
Experience overseeing cradle to grave projects

PURPOSE: This resource will design and develop all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment and machinery for our clients, end clients. They can be responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software. You will need to be open to travel upwards of 20%. More details attached above.
Meets weekly with Project Managers for a detailed review of all current tasks and projects.
Demonstrates the ability to design controls systems from scratch, with limited assistance from Project Managers.
Demonstrates the ability to develop PLC software from scratch, citing the OTI software standards.
Communicates often and effectively with customers.
Project Specific Activities:
Review and understand scope of supply, budget, and schedule of assigned projects.
Report and document budget and scope issues, as well as create and submit Engineering Change Requests and Purchase Order Requisitions to Project Managers when required.
Schedule Design Reviews with Project Managers before the completion of each project phase, on or before the scheduled milestone dates.
Design Engineering:
Concept and Design complete Hardwire Control Systems with little Management assistance.
Create and implement efficient software solutions utilizing OTI software standards.
Understand and implement effective safety solutions.
Understand and apply the use of core controls systems into designs.
Engineering Method, Practice, and Procedure:
Maintains accurate journal or composition book
Submits timesheets and project documentation to Administration on-time, every time.
Meets with Project Managers once a week to provide feedback on PM planning documents.
Ensures that all project documentation is stored on server in the correct location at all times.
Ensure all required design documentation; correspondence, and drawings are submitted on schedule.
