Position: Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Location: Aliso Viejo, CA

Salary: $130-200k

A well-established geotechnical and civil engineering consulting firm in Southern California is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and client-focused professional to lead complex projects and mentor junior staff in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and executing a wide range of geotechnical projects, from initial investigation through design and construction. You'll serve as a technical expert, client liaison, and team leader, contributing to both project success and the strategic growth of the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead geotechnical investigations, analyses, and design for public and private sector projects.

Prepare and review technical reports, design recommendations, and construction documents.

Manage project budgets, schedules, and client communications.

Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and mid-level staff.

Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client outreach.

Ensure quality assurance and compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

B.S. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (M.S. preferred).

California PE license required; GE license strongly preferred.

8-15+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, including project management.

Strong technical background in foundation design, slope stability, retaining structures, and seismic analysis.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Familiarity with Southern California geologic conditions and regulatory environment is a plus.
