We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer Inspector to evaluate and ensure the integrity of steel and concrete structures. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in structural assessments, non-destructive testing (limited), and compliance with industry standards, contributing to the safety and longevity of agricultural storage facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Structural Assessments:Conduct thorough visual inspections of steel and concrete grain bins, silos, and related structures, to identify signs of wear, corrosion, cracking, or other structural issues.
Inspection Techniques:Utilize a combination of visual inspections, sounding methods, ultrasonic thickness measurements, to assess structural conditions effectively.
Documentation:Prepare detailed inspection reports, including photographs, measurements, and recommendations for maintenance or repairs.
Compliance:Ensure all inspections and evaluations adhere to relevant industry codes.
Collaboration:Work closely with facility managers, maintenance teams, and engineering staff to communicate findings and assist in developing remediation plans.
Qualifications:
Education:Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Other Engineering degrees may be considered based on qualifications and experience.
Experience:Minimum of 5 years in structural inspection, preferably within the agricultural sector focusing on grain storage facilities.
Certifications:Experience and certifications in non-destructive testing methods are advantageous.
Skills:Proficiency in structural analysis software, strong understanding of construction materials, and familiarity with safety protocols related to confined spaces and elevated work areas.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
Capable of lifting equipment and materials as needed.
Willingness to travel to various inspection sites as required
