About the job you're considering
The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating, engineering, and managing on-premise compute infrastructure. This includes infrastructure QA automation and continuous lifecycle management. The role also involves performing gap analyses and recommending feature enhancements to ensure operational stability and optimal service delivery. You will collaborate closely with internal teams such as Storage, Virtualization, and Networking, and participate in cross-functional initiatives to develop innovative infrastructure solutions.
Your role
• Actively support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Continuously evaluate and engineer server infrastructure to meet application and service requirements.
• Contribute to architectural discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify challenges and recommend solutions.
• Automate compute certification, bare metal provisioning, and domain-specific processes.
• Create and maintain documentation (e.g., Compute Certifications, Implementation Guides, Design Documents).
• Define and enforce standards for infrastructure deployment and integration.
• Support and maintain lab infrastructure using established ticketing and scheduling systems.
• Manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Work with leadership to refine and improve operational processes.
Your skills and experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent work experience.
• Extensive experience in data center infrastructure engineering, including:
- Rack/blade server hardware
- Virtualization platforms
- SAN switching and storage technologies
- Basic networking
- Cloud Management Platforms
• Hands-on experience with Composable Infrastructure (e.g., Liqid, GigaIO).
• Advanced design and engineering experience with:
- Cisco UCS-X, UCS-C, UCS Central, Cisco Intersight
- Dell R Series, Dell OME
- HPE ProLiant, HP OneView
• Proficiency in MaaS platforms and automated deployment.
• Strong knowledge of:
- Workflow orchestration platforms
- Container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker)
- Scripting languages (BASH, Python, JavaScript, Ansible, Terraform, Redfish)
• Experience with:
- Robot Framework for QA testing automation
- Infrastructure monitoring and logging solutions
- Automated infrastructure builds using workflow automation
- Technical documentation tools (Lucidchart, Visio)
- SAFe/Agile methodologies using Jira Portfolio/Jira Align
- TestRail for test management
- CMP service catalog creation
