Job Title: Tool and Die Manager

Job Description

Lead and manage a team of skilled toolmakers, machinists, and support staff to ensure efficient operations and high-quality production standards. Oversee the design, fabrication, and modification of tools, dies, and fixtures to meet engineering specifications and production needs.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team of toolmakers, machinists, and support staff, ensuring they are trained and motivated.

Assign tasks based on skill level, experience, and production priorities to meet deadlines and targets.

Conduct performance reviews and implement improvement plans to maintain high productivity and quality.

Create a collaborative and safe working environment that promotes continuous learning and development.

Oversee the design, fabrication, and modification of tools, dies, and fixtures to meet engineering specifications.

Collaborate with engineering and product design teams to assess and improve tool requirements.

Review and approve tool and die designs to ensure suitability for production processes and compliance with industry standards.

Supervise the fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of precision tools and dies used in manufacturing.

Coordinate the repair and modification of existing tools and dies to maintain functionality.

Work closely with production and engineering teams to identify tooling needs and assist with new product development.

Ensure timely delivery of tools and dies to the production floor to reduce delays and ensure uninterrupted operations.

Provide ongoing support for tool changes, die adjustments, and other tooling-related tasks during production runs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Two-year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.

7+ years' experience as a tool and die maker in a manufacturing environment.

3+ years' experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and maintenance instructions.

Proficiency in mathematical concepts such as geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret instructions furnished in various forms.Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Paul, Minnesota.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
