Overview
The Project Estimator plays a key role in the preconstruction phase, compiling detailed mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical estimates for building and facility projects. This position directly supports our ability to win competitive bid work and deliver high-quality CM-at-Risk and Design-Build projects.
We're seeking a candidate with a strong background in estimating, construction operations, and team collaboration—ideally with at least five years of relevant experience. Prior field exposure and hands-on knowledge of construction methods are highly valued. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and driven to grow within a dynamic and supportive estimating team.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing using estimating software
Engage with vendors and suppliers to gather material and equipment pricing
Solicit subcontractor bids and review scopes of work for accuracy and completeness
Maintain and update pricing data within the estimating database
Develop a deep understanding of construction methods and their cost implications
Track and analyze ongoing construction projects to understand actual field costs and methods
Assist in creating detailed project budgets for awarded work
Contribute to and help manage a historical cost database for future estimating use
Participate in value engineering exercises and constructability reviews during preconstruction
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating, construction operations, or project leadership
Experience in MEP trades (mechanical, electrical, plumbing/HVAC) preferred
Field construction experience is a plus
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
