The Senior Manager of Program Management is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing enterprise-wide initiatives that modernize Asset Protection through cross-functional collaboration, driving meaningful business impact for Nordstrom and its customers. In partnership with senior leadership, this role develops, designs, and launches business solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Leading a multi-disciplinary team of program and project managers, the Senior Manager oversees large-scale program execution, managing multiple concurrent initiatives with a strong focus on strategy, delegation, and implementation. They foster collaboration across business and technical teams, ensuring seamless integration of solutions while maintaining a continuous improvement mindset. Operating across departmental and functional lines, this role navigates increasingly complex, high-risk programs, reconciling diverse stakeholder priorities to optimize performance and drive strategic innovation. By establishing clear processes, monitoring execution, and proactively addressing challenges, the Senior Manager of Program Management ensures sustainable business growth and operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership & Vision

Develops a strategic programmatic vision in partnership with the Director and SVP to align with JWN pillars and organizational ambition.

Drives vision with autonomy, managing a team to execute program priorities and deliver measurable results.

Synthesizes complex information into clear, actionable strategies to influence leadership decisions and business innovation.

Enterprise Program Management & Execution

Leads exceedingly complex programs, managing concurrent projects that have high-risk impacts on enterprise operations.

Prioritizes business needs, defining capability roadmaps and program scopes while maintaining a forward-looking approach (18+ months ahead).

Ensures seamless integration of cross-functional workstreams, modernizing Asset Protection through Product, Tech, and UX collaboration.

Owns cross-project resource allocation, coordination, and interdependencies, ensuring deliverables align with business objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Partnerships

Partners directly with down-pyramid leadership, including Regional Managers (SVPs), AP Directors, and cross-functional VPs, to establish clear expectations, evaluate trends, and co-design strategic solutions at scale.

Leads cross-functional meetings, reconciling divergent stakeholder priorities by engaging the right expertise to drive success.

Influences key stakeholders and leadership, shaping capability expectations and ensuring alignment on program outcomes.

Performance Management & Business Impact

Delivers a competitive advantage by driving Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) with accountability for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that increase sales and operational efficiency.

Defines work requirements in collaboration with stakeholders, creating structured plans, documentation, and performance monitoring mechanisms.

Team Development & Cross-Functional Leadership

Manages and supervises a multi-disciplinary team, including program and project managers, ensuring successful business outcomes.

Inspires inclusive leadership, fostering diversity of thought and recognizing intersectionality within teams to drive collaboration and innovation.

Leads change through data-driven insights, identifying inefficiencies and implementing incremental, practical improvements.

Driving Continuous Improvement & Innovation

Applies a continuous improvement mindset, identifying root causes of inefficiencies, and implementing sustainable business innovations.

Transforms obstacles into opportunities, integrating highly specialized expertise to build creative solutions that enhance Asset Protection strategy.

Showcases expert knowledge of program management standards, ensuring operational excellence and cross-functional alignment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of related experience (e.g., Strategy consulting, program management, Asset Protection). Related experience in retail industry preferred.

Knowledge of industry best practices in security, operations, and enterprise risk management.

Experience implementing process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.

Proven experience successfully managing and influencing teams.

Experience managing large-scale, high-risk programs with multiple stakeholders.

Prior leadership experience supervising program and project managers.

Expertise in Agile, Scrum, or other project management frameworks.

Ability to prioritize initiatives, define program scope, and manage execution for projects with long-term impact

Ability to navigate complex change management and execute programs effectively across business units

Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, ensuring cross-functional alignment.

Experience facilitating meetings and reconciling diverse stakeholder priorities.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations.

Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.$126,500.00 - $210,000.00 Annual

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
