Commercial Construction Senior Superintendent
Our client is a leading commercial construction firm dedicated to delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. They are looking for a seasoned Senior Superintendent to join their team and oversee all major commercial projects.
Job Summary:
The Senior Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations on a construction project, ensuring that the work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to their quality standards. This role requires a hands-on leader with extensive experience in commercial construction, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage large teams and complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight: Lead the on-site construction team and manage all aspects of the construction process from groundbreaking to project completion.
Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment for all team members and subcontractors.
Quality Control: Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to project specifications, building codes, and quality standards.
Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of milestones.
Resource Management: Allocate labor, equipment, and materials efficiently to meet project goals and deadlines.
Budget Management: Assist in managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and implementing cost-control measures to stay within financial targets.
Subcontractor Coordination: Oversee the performance of subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to the project schedule and quality requirements.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction, keeping the project on track.
Client Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with clients, addressing their concerns and keeping them informed of project progress.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including daily reports, change orders, and RFI logs.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial construction with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
Education: Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in project management software and construction technology.
In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification required; PMP or other relevant certifications are a plus.
