You’ll learn more about this during the recruitment process.\nJOB SUMMARY:\n The Consumer Insights (CI) team within Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX) conducts research among guests and future visitors to learn about them and their experience, using survey research as well as other approaches.\n The Programmer Analyst with the Systems Team within Consumer Insights supports research efforts by facilitating and improving data collection efforts, streamlining ongoing reporting, developing new internal applications, and assisting with other programming needs.
Core to this function is their ongoing involvement in improving the survey and reporting experience for internal Team Members and Guests, providing the programming needed to make surveys and reports dynamic, formatted the correct way, and visually aligned with brand standards.\n In addition, the CI Programmer Analyst will be responsible for other programming-related tasks as needed, including the management and enhancement of department web pages, the maintenance and inclusion of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) used with research data platforms, and the creation of other custom applications to support research efforts both internally and externally.\n To be successful in this position, team members should be comfortable creating and editing web pages, as well as writing code in various programming languages.
As web programming skills directly relate to working with survey content, team members should have experience editing, enabling dynamic functionality, and customizing the look of web content.
Survey content and applications that are coded by the CI Programmer Analyst will be used to enhance the collection and reporting of data, ultimately enabling partners within Universal Destinations & Experiences to understand their business in new and better ways.\nMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nMaintains and enhances survey platforms used in research including custom user interfaces, functionality, and survey management.\nModifies survey content and templates, including items such as questions and answers, skip patterns, question logic, validation checks, custom code, and the visual look of surveys.\nBuilds and modifies report templates and dashboards in the Tableau and Microsoft Power BI reporting platforms (or other tools).\nWorks on custom applications and other programming tasks as needed by the team.\nHelps maintain and add data connections used with survey data, including APIs that connect data systems together.\nWorks on self-directed special projects to enhance professional abilities, department initiatives, or efficiencies.\nMaintains familiarity on all systems and processes utilized by the UDX CI Systems team.\nUnderstands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.\nContributes to the team with other duties as needed\n\nEDUCATION:\n\nBachelor’s degree is required.\n\nEXPERIENCE:\n\n3+ years of exemplary performance as a CI Associate Programmer Analyst, or 3+ years of equivalent experience in web and application programming, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nADDITIONAL INFORMATION:\n\nSolid understanding and experience working with web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.\nKnowledge and experience with the Tableau reporting platform.\nKnowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, including Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).\nExperience with incorporating and troubleshooting Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).\nDesire to take proactive ownership of technical research challenges, working with colleagues and stakeholders where they are towards a resolution.\nTechnical and quantitative reasoning skills with a desire to understand survey questionnaires, research methodologies, and the purpose of the research.\nHighly collaborative team player who proactively seeks input and feedback before, during, and after development, is an excellent problem-solver, and is able to think creatively to find solutions to the issue at hand.\nFlexible with tasks, able to quickly adapt to changing priorities and tight timelines.\nExperience with current web technology standards such as HTML5 and CSS3 is preferred but not required.\nExperience with the Python programming language is preferred but not required.\nExperience with designing and maintaining Microsoft SharePoint sites including libraries, lists, pages, and web parts is preferred but not required.\nFamiliarity with Qualtrics or other commercial survey software platform will help in this position.\nFamiliarity with the Microsoft Power BI reporting platform will help in this position.\nFamiliarity with the Alteryx data transformation platform will help in this position.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Power Automate will help in this position\nFamiliarity with survey data variable types and nuances will help in this position.\n\n \n \n Your talent, skills and experience will be rewarded with a competitive compensation package.\n Universal is not accepting unsolicited assistance from search firms for this employment opportunity.
