Title: Automation Engineer

Location: Austin, TX

Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000

Schedule: Onsite Mon-Fri 7:00AM - 4:30 PM

An innovative manufacturing company in Austin is hiring an Automation Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of automation systems including robotics, conveyance, and AGVs (automated guided vehicles). This role is responsible for the end-to-end automation architecture, from concept and design to implementation and optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement automated systems to support high-volume manufacturing operations

Program and debug PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell required)

Develop system architecture for integrated robotics, conveyance, and guided vehicles

Own project documentation including electrical schematics, I&C specifications, and layout drawings

Collaborate with process, controls, and mechanical engineers to integrate new equipment

Evaluate vendor solutions and manage commissioning/startup activities

Support continuous improvement projects that increase throughput and reduce downtime

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering

3–5+ years of hands-on experience designing and deploying industrial automation systems

Proficient in Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI development, and SCADA systems

Strong experience in robotics, sensors, and system integration

Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar CAD platforms

Ability to lead project timelines and coordinate across engineering and operations teams
