Sr. Network Engineer (Datacenter Buildout)

Job Description

We have a client that is building several data centers around the country and we are helping them implement/install the network infrastructure.They need an engineer to work onsite at their new data center that is being built in Oregon. This is starting as a 6 month contract with possible extension and even possible conversion to full time working with their support team.

Required skills/Requirements:

Construction zones data centers being built

PPE required (boots, vest, hard hat)

Daily meetings to understand construction focus they will be the IT rep in construction meetings and determine where IT can work daily

Most of the work is post implementation

Driving completion of IT infrastructure build until RFS (Ready for Service)

Not responsible for low voltage wiring

Supervise low voltage wiring installs and ensure they meet companys standards

Building management and low voltage teams, team installing badge readers and cameras

Project Mgmt aspect ensuring cabling and wiring meets companys standards

Switch config, Port config, Port commissioning

Port commissioning is ongoing and thats why we need the resource onsite

IT rep onsite keep projects on schedule

90% of processes are documented

No application mgmt.

Build infrastructure that the video systems, card reader systems, etc work on

Staffing resources will include workstation configuration add stuff to domain so security team can work

In support of data center construction

Put infrastructure of phone system and camera system in, configure ports
