Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer to lead the deployment, management, and maintenance of our enterprise-wide networking and telecommunications infrastructure. This includes oversight of LANs, WANs, Internet, VOIP, security, wireless networks, servers, firewalls, and telecom systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, vendor management experience, and a proactive approach to ensuring performance, security, and reliability across all network systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and manage network infrastructure to support reliable business operations and future scalability.

Direct and coordinate activities with managed service providers (e.G., Synoptek, telecom carriers, cabling vendors) to ensure adherence to best practices.

Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues, providing timely resolution and root cause analysis.

Collaborate with engineering teams to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs.

Develop and maintain network documentation, including configurations, process flows, maps, and service records.

Implement policies, procedures, and training materials for network administration and usage.

Research and evaluate emerging technologies, protocols, and tools to support evolving business requirements.

Maintain accurate inventory of network assets and associated documentation.

Generate regular performance metrics and capacity reports.

Oversee hardware and software upgrades across networking infrastructure.

Establish and document processes to maintain 24/7 network availability.

Evaluate and recommend network operating system and equipment upgrades.

Implement and maintain security standards and controls to safeguard corporate network assets.

Interface with UNIX and Windows infrastructure teams to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance.

Provide after-hours and on-call support as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelorâ s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Minimum 10+ years of experience in network engineering and administration.

Industry certifications (e.G., CCNP, CCIE) strongly preferred;equivalent experience with a demonstrated track record will be considered.

In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, and structured cabling standards.

Proficiency with packet capture analysis and use of network management tools.

Proven success in designing and implementing LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN infrastructures.

Strong understanding of network security frameworks and best practices.

Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches (e.G., Catalyst 9300, 6509, 4510), Juniper, and F5 products (Netscreen, WAF, Load Balancers, TLS VPN).

Experience supporting and maintaining infrastructure in data center environments.

Familiarity with IT operations and challenges specific to manufacturing environments.

Experience managing PBX and VOIP systems (Avaya Definity or similar is a plus).

Familiarity with Observer or other network analysis tools.

Competent in testing procedures for voice/data circuits.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and lead technical discussions.

Highly organized, self-directed, and detail-oriented with a customer-first mindset.

Able to lead and mentor junior staff and effectively manage vendor relationships.
