Your role at Baxter
The Americas Accounting Center of Expertise (CoE) supports Baxter’s monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and has insight to senior leadership.
This team focuses on ensuring accurate accounting treatment for sophisticated areas of accounting, evaluating internal controls, and establishing efficient and accurate close processes.
This position requires strong cross-functional collaboration with various Local Country Finance contacts, the Costa Rica Shared Services Center (SSC) and other members of the Accounting CoE.

What you'll be doing
We resolve appropriate accounting treatment for transactions ensuring compliance with US GAAP and completion of documentation for audit purposes
We partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate/timely reporting of monthly financial data, including required US GAAP/management adjustments and accounting support
We prepare and assist in review of results (trend, variance, growth, etc) for areas of responsibility
Coordinate close processes, effectively communicate results to collaborators, customers, partners, and teams.
We review processes and find opportunities for improvement initiatives, including implementing and supervising post-implementation
We handle and prepare month-end close entries for entry into JDE and FCCS – as the need arises
We supervise and prepare entries required per ASC606 revenue accounting

What you'll bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred
Demonstration of key accounting/finance proficiencies and qualifications; typically 5 years of relevant industry accounting experience
Proven understanding of US GAAP and financial analysis, including understanding of internal control requirements and relevant business environments
Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to lead ambiguity and multiple, challenging priorities and to efficiently handle or resolve issues to meet deadlines
Proficient knowledge of FCCS and JDE systems preferred
Process improvement and process innovation experience preferred
Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork skills, adaptable, self-starter with strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities
