Our client is looking to hire a Structural Engineer to join their team here in Columbus! Our client has over 50 years of experience solving air pollution control problems for a large variety of industrial sources, including furnaces, boilers, incinerators, kilns, and dryers.
The Structural Engineer would be responsible for evaluating existing and past designs for possible improvement, review the design work of designers, design structures and foundations, and evaluate bids and contracts with team.
Qualified candidates would need experience with Structural Steel & Concrete, Batchelor's degree within Civil Engineering from ABET accredited program, AutoCAD, and developing layouts and projects.
Job Requirements
Job Responsibilities:
- Work within a team of other engineers and potentially manage a small team of 2-3
- Evaluate existing and past designs for possible improvement or application to new
projects.
- Review the design work of Designers, CAD Technicians and subcontract firms, and check
drawings.
- Assure that calculations, specifications, and drawings are accurate and easily usable.
- Help evaluate, test and improve Company products.
- Design structures and foundations according to sound engineering principles, Company
design standards, and customer contract specifications.
- Write specifications for purchased items and help evaluate supplier proposals.
- Gather design information on jobsites and provide technical advice.
- Layout proposed systems using customer drawings and survey data.
- Help supervisor schedule work and resolve priorities and problems.
- If requested, manage the activities of subcontract engineering and design firms.
- Keep complete records of work, as required.
Job Requirement:
- 5+ years of experience designing structural steel & concrete
- AutoCAD Experience
- Staad experience
- Structural and foundation design
- Experience working with structural design using structural, plate & sheet steel, and concrete
foundations
