The AP Payment Processor ensures accurate and timely payments to vendors while fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity and supporting continuous improvement within the accounts payable function.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day payment cycle activities and deliver efficient client service
Generate weekly payment batches by entity
Maintain control of utility payments by entity
Oversee automatic payments by entity
Issue manual checks as needed
Post all payments in the financial system
Reconcile bank statements to confirm payment debits
Verify proper payment approvals
Provide Treasury with payment-related cash flow data
Identify and implement process improvements
Support departmental best practice initiatives
Document processes to ensure business continuity
Ensure compliance with SOX requirements
Minimum Requirements
Technical degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2+ years of experience in accounts payable or payment processing
Proficiency with financial systems and payment platforms
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Legal authorization to work in Costa Rica
English proficiency
Preferred Requirements
Experience with multinational entities or shared services environments
Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal controls
Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
Spanish language skills
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
